Native Americans

Initially someone had a concern that this area could have been used to travel from Lancaster to Sterling. I am willing to research this if someone could send me in the right direction. Any idea where to start?

Hi. John Schumacher-Hardy is a great town historian and maybe he could offer some insight.

Hi,

The Lancaster Historical Commission raised this concern in their 4/24/18 comment letter to the Zoning Board of Appeals. They
recommended studies be conducted to look for "remnants of indigenous habitants in the area".

They noted that they have responsibility for informing the MA Historical Commission of any historical finds on the site. They
also seem to have some knowledge of earlier inhabitants movements through the area.

If you have not already done so, you may want to contact them at (978) 365-3326 Ext. 1057, or in the Prescott Building.
